Corporate Social Responsibility

Engility is engineered to make a difference for our customers and within our communities. Our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program offers our employees opportunities to design, lead and participate in initiatives that align with our corporate values. Our outreach efforts are focused on two primary areas:

  • Military and Veteran Support
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Math

Military and Veteran Support

Nearly 30 percent of our employees are veterans, and we have two veteran-focused nonprofit partners: Building Homes for Heroes (BHFH) and Center for Cyber Safety and Education.

Building Homes for Heroes

Since 2013, Engility has donated more than $245,000 to help BHFH rebuild the lives of our nation’s most severely injured veterans. We are paired with wounded veterans each year and support them by raising funds to gift them with a mortgage-free home. But our involvement runs deeper than financial support — they become extended members of Engility, joining us for other veteran-focused charitable activities.

Center for Cyber Safety and Education

In partnership with the Center for Cyber Safety and Education, we sponsor the Engility CyberWarrior scholarship program to provide military veterans with career development opportunities in cybersecurity. The scholarships include everything the recipients need to prepare to become certified for a career in cybersecurity, including training classes, textbooks and materials and exam vouchers for the (ISC) certification of their choice.

Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM)

Engility’s heritage is steeped in STEM many of the companies that eventually formed Engility were founded by engineers, including a set of MIT graduates who banded together in 1955 to work on some of the Space Race’s earliest technology.

In partnership with the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation (ASF), we support the very best and brightest scholars in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics while commemorating the legacy of our country's pioneering astronauts. Since the 1960s, Engility has supported the most challenging space missions. We bring this experience to our mentor program, where our STEM professionals build relationships with the ASF scholars.

Engility’s dedication to STEM extends to our employees as well. In 2017, we graduated our first data analytics cohort via a partnership with George Mason University.

Employee-Led Activities

Beyond our corporate CSR partnerships, our employees volunteer their time and resources to a variety of causes. We participate in food and clothing drives and have a long-term relationship with the D.C. Central Kitchen where teams of employees help prepare thousands of meals for those in need. From attending science fairs to adjudicating robotics competitions to briefing middle schoolers on cryptography, our team has a real impact on the STEM leaders of tomorrow.
